Open by default
The exit is a feature, and it ships with every edition.
Software in this market is priced on how hard it is to leave. We would rather be priced on whether the product is good, which means making the exit boring: your records, in open formats, on demand, for as long as you need them — including after you have gone.
Why a vendor would give you this
Because the alternative corrupts the product. The day leaving becomes expensive is the day a roadmap starts optimising for switching costs instead of for the work. Every feature after that gets a little more proprietary, every format a little less standard, and the customer's leverage is gone. Committing publicly to the opposite is the only version of this promise worth anything, because it is the only version that costs us something to break. These commitments are published in full in our Customer Bill of Rights.
Export everything, on every edition
Exports are part of the core pack, which means they are on every edition including the least expensive one. Moving them into a paid tier would be a pricing change that contradicts a published commitment, not a product decision.
- Customers, units, parts and inventory
- Service orders and order lines
- General ledger and accounts payable
- Payroll preparation and ACH files
- Technician productivity and advisor sales
- Customer price matrices
- QuickBooks Desktop general journal
Open formats, not a proprietary dump
An export that only our software can read is not an export. Files come out in the formats the tools your accountant and your analysts already use open natively.
- Tabular data as CSV, readable by any spreadsheet or database
- Accounting in the interchange formats accounting packages import
- No format that requires our software to interpret
Ninety days of access after you cancel
Cancellation does not start a countdown on your records. You keep export access for ninety days after the account closes, which is long enough to finish a migration, close a year, and answer the question you did not think to ask on the way out.
- Export access survives cancellation for ninety days
- No fee to retrieve your own data, during or after
- No requirement to talk to a retention team first
Nothing about your data is a lever
We do not charge for access to your own records, gate compliance surfaces behind an edition, or require payment processing to unlock a feature. Those are three separate commitments because they are three separate things vendors in this market actually do.
- No charge for the customer's own data, at any point
- Safety and compliance surfaces — DVIR viewing, the audit log — are never gated
- Payment processing is optional and never unlocks anything
- Month-to-month by default; a contract only ever lowers your price
In build, and not yet in your hands
These are committed to in our Customer Bill of Rights and will be included on every edition when they ship. They are not available today. We are listing them here rather than leaving them implied, because a commitment you discover was aspirational is worse than one you were told the truth about.
- Not shipped
A documented public API
A versioned, permission-scoped read surface with published OpenAPI, so your own tools can ask the system questions directly instead of waiting for a file.
- Not shipped
A remote MCP server
The same permission scopes, exposed so that the AI tools your team already uses can work against your shop's real data with your rules applied.
- Not shipped
Outbound webhooks
Events pushed to your systems as they happen, rather than polled. The only webhook endpoint running today is our inbound payments one.
- Not shipped
A full-organization export
One archive of everything, rather than a set of per-area exports. The per-area exports above cover the same records today.
Ask us the hard version of this question.
If you are evaluating us against a vendor you are currently trying to leave, tell us what went wrong there. It is the most useful thing you can say to us, and it is how these commitments got written.
