# Service orders, DVI, and parts — built for heavy-duty

Meridian is heavy-duty truck repair software for the people doing the work in a truck shop: the writer building the repair order and the tech closing it out. One RO carries labor, parts, sublet and fees. Inspections attach photos and condition ratings, and the parts on the line come out of real inventory at a real branch.

## One repair order holds the whole job

Heavy-duty work is rarely just labor. A PM comes in, the tech finds a cracked crossmember, and now the job is a PM plus a weld plus a part nobody stocked. The RO takes all of it, so what the customer is billed and what the job actually consumed stay the same record.

- Labor off a built-in flat-rate guide
- Parts pulled from inventory at any branch, with a transfer raised when the stock is elsewhere
- Sublet work and fees as their own lines, not adjustments at the bottom of the ticket
- VIN decode and year/make/model lookup to fill in the unit
- PM schedules tracked against the unit

## Inspections that produce evidence

Digital vehicle inspections run off checklists you set up yourself, with condition ratings and photographs attached, and they print as a report. The value is not the checklist. It is that the recommendation reaches the customer with a picture of the part that caused it, which is most of the difference between an approved job and a phone argument.

## Tech time is captured where the work happens

A per-order time clock records what each tech spent on each RO, against the flat-rate guide the estimate was built from. That comparison is how you find out whether a job was priced right, and it feeds payroll prep instead of being re-keyed into it.

- Per-RO technician time clock
- Built-in flat-rate labor guide
- Payroll prep reports
- Tech productivity reporting

## The order moves in one flow

Take the order, build the estimate, do the work, invoice it. A sublet alignment lands on the same ticket as the in-frame. Parts pull from inventory as the job completes, the customer approves the estimate from the portal, and invoicing is one action instead of re-entering everything that already happened.

- Counter sale, repair order, internal work order and partner PO all share one workflow
- Estimate approval through the customer portal
- Scheduling with tech assignment and customer confirmations
- Invoice, take payment, and close from the same screen

## Questions

**What can go on a repair order?**

Labor, parts, sublet work and fees, on one document. Labor comes off a built-in flat-rate guide and parts come from inventory at any branch.

**Do inspections include photos?**

Yes. Digital vehicle inspections use checklists you set up yourself, with condition ratings and photographs, and they print as a report you can hand to a customer.

**How is tech time recorded?**

A per-order time clock records time against the RO, which you can compare with the flat-rate guide the estimate was built from. It feeds payroll prep reports.

**Does it decode VINs?**

Yes. VIN decode and year/make/model lookup fill in unit details, and PM schedules are tracked against the unit.

**What happens if a part is at another branch?**

The part picker shows which locations have it, and stock can be moved with a branch-to-branch transfer that moves through draft, in transit, and received.
